Eligibility Criteria for CA Foundation Course
To be eligible for the CA Foundation course, candidates must meet specific academic requirements and other criteria set by the ICAI. The CA Foundation is a six-month program, and candidates must pass the CA Foundation exam to register for the Chartered Accountancy course. This exam is conducted three times a year by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The primary objective of the exam is to prepare and certify individuals aspiring to become Chartered Accountants. It is crucial for candidates to be aware of the eligibility criteria before applying for the CA Foundation exam to avoid any issues with their application. Educational Qualification
- Candidates who have passed the Class 10 examination from the state or central government board or an equivalent examination can apply for the CA Foundation exam. However, these candidates can only take provisional admission that will be regularized after clearing Class 12 exams.
- Candidates appearing in Class 12 or having already passed the exams can register for the CA Foundation exam.
- Candidates who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 50 percent marks can register.
CA Foundation Exemptions
- UG and PG Candidates: Candidates who have scored an aggregate of 55% marks in graduation or post-graduation degree in commerce stream from any recognized university will be exempted from CA Foundation 2024.
- NIOS candidates: Candidates who have completed their undergraduate or postgraduate courses from an open university are not required to appear for the CA Foundation 2024 Exam.
- Non-commerce candidates: Candidates who have received Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in a stream other than commerce from a recognized university and have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate need not appear for the CA Foundation 2024 Exam.
Age Limit
There are no CA age limit restrictions for candidates who want to apply for the CA Foundation exam.
Registration with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India
The candidates can register for the CA Foundation course online or through a regional office of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
